...from my journey through Turkey. It's a shame I never took any photographs of Istanbul as it was an amazing place but I had better things to do, as one will find out shortly.
The view to the right of Tasucu.
My little mate and his workmates from the office. So much for work. This was my little mate at Tasucu. A right little poser. He reminded me of a young Severiano Ballesteros.
This was the view from my room. What a sight to wake up to every morning.
The beauty of the Cyprus Gardens Holiday Village. This shot reminds me of the front cover of the Eagles classic album Hotel California from the 1970's
Not sure this page does justice to this photograph of giant ants on these flower buds. They must have been feeding on the nectar as there was a fair bit of rushing around and fisty-cuffs going on!
The swimming pool was almost of olympic proportions and immaculately kept.
Aysha with her assistant receptionist.
This is Aysha with her sister on the right. She was the other receptionist at the Cyprus Gardens Holiday Village. In four short days Aysha became a real good friend. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She supplied me with coffee, biscuits and helped me with any translations I needed as she spoke a fair amount of English. Although there is no internet access for the general public she told the manager I was travelling and needed to contact friends and family and also to write my blog, so he gave me the use of his office as well!
She even invited me to the Iskele Festival (Check it out. It's been going for fourty-three years) and got her sister, who's name escapes me, to picked me up in her car and take me. It was a fascinating insight into the way of life in a typical North Cyprus community. She also introduced me to all her friends and relatives! When I left for Kyrenia I bought her a silver chain with two pretty flowers dangling from it. She was beside herself with happiness. I told her if I was thirty years younger I would want her as a wife. She must have miss-heard me as she said it would be difficult because she was a muslim. I told her nothing is impossible, I can become a muslim! She looked very perplexed and just a little bothered me thinks so I put her out of her missery :-)

One of hundreds of different variety of flowers and shrubs that make up the gardens of the Cyprus Gardens Holiday Village. It's a real botanical treasure house.
This is Sergio, one of the receptionists at the Cyprus Gardens Holiday Village 30Km north of Farmagusta, where I spent four relaxing day's after my days ordeal trying to cross the border into South Cyprus.
This is the tourist beach at Tasucu where I spent the day swimming in the Med and playing my 12 string acoustic guitar with one of the youngsters who worked in the shipping office. His mastery of the guitar wasn't half bad either (To be truthfull he was far better than me!) and he could sing, the smarmy little bastard :-)
