Today my boat came in.

My day of departure has (Saturday 30th April) arrived and the Isle of Man Steam Packet fast craft 'The Mannanan' was ready and waiting to take me across to Liverpool.

Now that's nowhere near the full tale as I started packing more than a month ago but only started to load the van five days before I was due to leave. On Wednesday night as I sat down for the first time in nine hours I began to panic because looking around me there was mountains of stuff still to pack! A call to a good friend meant his help was there the following morning, thank heavens! He ended up staying the night and we started loading at six am! By midday realisation set in that the van was not going to swallow up all my possessions so I made an instant decision, some of it was going to be left behind! So when my dear friend returned home on Friday night around 10pm it took us half an hour to lug it all up three flights of stairs! But like all good things, it was alright by the end. Unfortunately the end was just a little too close for comfort!

Arriving at the Sea Terminal about a ton and a half over the limit for a van to be allowed on board, anxiety had yet again became a major factor, to say the least but I had nothing to worry about as the ferry was only half full or was it half empty? Well, as soon as the van was parked on the vehicle deck and a cup of coffee was in hand, all was well with the world.

The trip to Liverpool was very relaxing to the point of exhaustion. I even managed to dream of far away places for half an hour. Well that's all for now as I'm totally brain dead.
