I’m really enjoying my stay here with my relatives but my feet are starting to itch. I’m being spoilt rotten, especially with the fabulous food that is put in front of me every day. Today was no exception but being a Sunday the whole family sits down to eat together and time is no object to ensure the end product is to a standard Gordon Ramsey would be proud of! On the menu today was bean vegetable soup (A bit like Hungarian goulash without the beef) with home-made fresh pasta, then succulent fried pork covered in bread-crumbs with chips but not as you know it. The afters was a home-made cake with puff pastry stuffed with a sort of baker’s custard and topped with fresh whipped cream. Yum yum yum yum yum. I weighed myself yesterday and have put on eleven pounds in the two weeks I’ve been here!
This coming week I will be waiting to hear back from the British Embassy in Budapest. Wether I get a satisfactory answer or not, I’ve almost made up my mind to reverse my decision and revert back to my original planned route, come what may! I told my relatives I was thinking of leaving next Friday 24th June but my aunt would like me to stay until Monday 27th but I know, even though she would not say, she would like me to stay until she departs this world. That is not going to happen as I hate funerals and I’m definitely not going to be at mine
Yesterday I got up at the crack of dawn (I’d love the ‘crack of Dawn,’ sadly I’ve yet to come across one!) to photograph a Storks nest that is perched on a telegraph pole on the main road into Baja. The local ‘council’ in most of the villages and towns install special grills for the Storks to build their nest on (Most of the nests have web-cams set up and can be found on the internet)
It’s now just gone eleven-thirty in the evening now and I can hardly keep my eyes open so will have to continue this in the morning.
P.S It's now Monday orning as when I tried to save this post last night it disappeared into the ether! Photographs to follow shortly.
