10am and I head north again to collect the four flight cases I ordered from Castle Cases just outsideTamworth (and first class they are too) for my various amps and speaker cabinets. Yet again a bit of jiggery and pokery to install the amps and load them back on. Then it's south to Buckingham to meet my first grandson, Alfie.
The trip to Tamworth from Coventry and on to Buckingham was 109 miles and was a breeze compared to the 119 nervous miles covered from Liverpool to Coventry.
And then I met little Alfie. I was just a little nervous as he was handed to me and thought he might start exercising his lungs at seeing the aged rockers face? None of it, he even gave me a smile :-) A few hours later my son had to go for physio treatment for a shattered knee (Silly bugger, he gets no sympathy from me!) so I offered to look after Alfie while his partner drove him. He was no trouble at all. I even changed his wet nappy (I do apologise for putting the first one on back to front!)
UK TO CYPRUS ROUTE: Harwich ferry to HOOK OF HOLLAND: Amsterdam, De Lutte. GERMANY: Hanover, Berlin, Dresden. CZECH REPUBLIC: Prague, Ostrava. POLAND: Auschwitze, Krakow. SLOVAKIA: Zvolen, Homok. HUNGARY: Budapest, Baja. (Back to original route!) ROMANIA: Bucharest. BULGARIA: Along the coast of the Black Sea, Istanbul, Ankara, Mersin, ferry to Girne TRNC.
